House Rules

  • Attention! The water depth of the thermal lake ranges from 2 m to 38 m.
  • The water lilies in the lake are strictly protected. Damaging their leaves or flowers is strictly prohibited.
  • Please help protect the natural values of the Lake Hévíz Nature Conservation Area and do not cause any damage to them.
  • Unauthorized selling or commercial activity is prohibited throughout the Lake Bath.
  • A cloakroom is available at the Lake Bath from 1st of November until the end of February.
  • Please take care of the cleanliness, furnishings and other equipment of the Lake Bath. Any person who causes damage intentionally or negligently may be required to compensate for that damage.
  • Swimming in the lake is strictly prohibited after dark and whenever a storm warning is issued by staff.
  • Throughout the entire Lake Bath, including the water surface, water body and underwater formations, any underwater activity involving diving equipment, breathing apparatus, snorkels or other diving aids is prohibited. This includes scuba diving, snorkeling, underwater exploration, surveying, documentation, object searching and similar activities. The restriction does not apply to authorized diving activities commissioned or organized by the St. Andrew Hospital for Rheumatology and Medicinal Spa of Hévíz for nature conservation, operational, technical, monitoring, research, rescue, official or other public service purposes.
  • Swimming or entering the water outside designated bathing areas, outside opening hours, or without authorization is strictly prohibited. Any bathing in violation of this rule is solely at the offender’s own risk. The operator accepts no liability for injuries, health damage, property damage or any other consequences arising from unauthorized bathing. Violation of this prohibition may result in legal consequences.
  • Guests may remain in the Lake Bath only during opening hours. All services are used either according to medical advice or at the guest’s own responsibility.
  • To ensure undisturbed relaxation for bath guests and to protect the water of the Lake, in the Lake Bath as well as in the wellness and sauna world it is FORBIDDEN to:
    - eat in the water, pollute the water or jump into the water
    - bring balls, fragile objects, glasses or any other objects into the water, that may cause accident or injury or could disturb other guests in any way
    - enter rooms reserved for the opposite sex (showers, changing rooms, restrooms, etc.)
    - bring animals – with the exception of guide dogs – onto the bath premises
    - behave in any way that violates moral standards and/or the public order.
  • Please be aware that walking on the Lake Bath premises without slippers poses an accident hazard and is not recommended for hygienic reasons as well.
  • Should you notice any irregularity, please report it to our staff.
  • Swimming rings may be rented only with a valid rental ticket and deposit. Deposits are refunded only on the day of return. Rented equipment must be returned before closing time. Deposits are not refunded for damaged equipment.
  • Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking areas of the Lake Bath.
  • Bathing in the Lake is not recommended for children under the age of 12, even under medical advice, it is only allowed if the supervision of an adult is given. We maintain a seasonal, temperate pool with theme elements for children, which is located in the children’s zone in the summer spa area.
  • The children's pool may only be used by children under the age of 14 - adults may not enter the pool for hygienic reasons. We kindly ask our guests not to leave their children without supervision. One child may be accompanied by only one person in the wading pool. For toddlers up to the age of 3, the use of closed swimming diapers is mandatory.
  • The use of the services of the Lake Bath is not recommended in the case of various cardiovascular diseases or hypertension, and for those suffering from fever or infectious diseases, as well as for pregnant women. Please consult your doctor before bathing in the Lake.
  • Accessible changing rooms and facilities reserved for guests with disabilities may be used only upon presentation of the appropriate identification.
  • Spa services may be used only with a valid ticket or pass and acceptance of the applicable prices. Overtime beyond the purchased bathing period may incur an additional charge.
  • Entering the Lake Bath is possible through an access control system, with a corresponding wristband issued by a cashier or the information desk. Please go through the turnstile as required (exception: persons with limited mobility), do not climb or jump over it. The manager-on-duty of the Lake Bath is entitled to check the validity of the ticket on the guest's access control wristband at any time.
  • Daily tickets, passes and discounts are not valid for events held outside regular opening hours.
  • Lockers are distributed through a terminal located at the changing room entrance, using the access control wristband. The system is automated, an individual locker selection is not possible. Guests may use the locker assigned to their access control wristband, which is required for opening and closing a locker. Please always check if the locker has been closed properly. Our institution is not liable for any damage that may arise due to a violation of these rules or failure to use the lockers as intended.
  • If you have a ticket or a pass that entitles you to multiple entries, please be advised that assigned lockers will be terminated as soon as you leave the Lake Bath - therefore, please empty your locker every time before leaving. A new locker will be assigned to you when you return. Our institution accepts no liability for personal items left in the lockers or other items left unattended on Lake Bath premises
  • We refuse any liability for high-value items that have been brought onto the premises unreasonably. All other issues are governed by the relevant provisions of the Hungarian Civil Code.
  • Guests must take all personal belongings with them upon departure. Removal of safe-deposit or locker keys is strictly prohibited.
  • Wearing jewellery, especially silver jewellery, in the medicinal water is not recommended as the water may damage or discolor it.
  • You may cancel services at the Festetics Bath House with a refund no later than two hours before your appointment. Services booked without payment will be resold 10 minutes after the scheduled start of the treatment.
  • Treatments (massages, special massages, cosmetics, manicure-pedicure, mud wrap, underwater traction therapy, movement therapy) may only be used at the times given by the Festetics Bath House Therapy Reception. We are unable to provide an alternative appointment for treatments, that have been missed due to reasons attributable to the guest. If a treatment is missed twice, further scheduled appointments will be deleted from the program.
  • Please do not use mobile phones in treatment rooms and wellness areas; ensure they are muted.
  • Taking a shower is mandatory before using the Lake Bath and the wellness and sauna world. Using the foot wash is mandatory before using the pools of the wellness and sauna world.
  • Children under 12 years of age may not use the wellness and sauna facilities.
  • Please note that a security camera system operates throughout the Spa area. Please be informed that a CCTV system is in operation on the Lake Bath premises.
  • In accordance with the resolutions of the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH), we kindly ask our guests and patients to observe and respect personal rights when making video and audio recordings anywhere on Lake Bath premises. When taking photos or videos, please pay special attention to protecting the personal rights of others and to observing these in order to protect personal data.
  • Please be informed that St. Andrew Hospital for Rheumatology and Medicinal Spa of Hévíz, as data controller, carries out mandatory data processing activities regarding personal data during its operation, based on legal authorization or consent. The institution places special emphasis on complying with applicable legal regulations, as well as regularity and accuracy of the data processing activities. Data processing is carried out only to the extent necessary and in accordance with its intended purpose, in all cases based on the principles of integrity and accountability. Our guests – the data subjects of processing activities – always have the right to access the personal data relating to them, the right to the rectification, erasure of their personal data, the right to be forgotten, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.
  • Please help us with your comments and suggestions. Guestbooks and guest satisfaction surveys are available for this purpose in the lobbies of the Lake Bath. Our institution has a complaint handling system in place - we respond to your comments and suggestions as soon as possible.
  • Use of Spa services constitutes acceptance of these House Rules. Guests violating the rules or disturbing other guests may be required to leave the premises and may be denied further services. In cases involving offences or criminal acts, the authorities may be notified.
  • Please comply with all provisions of these House Rules. Services may be denied to anyone unwilling to comply.
  • In the event of a violation, the operator may order the immediate cessation of the unlawful activity, require the person concerned to leave the Spa area, and notify the competent authorities if necessary.
  • No person who provokes public outrage or is heavily intoxicated may stay on Lake Bath premises or in the Festetics Bath House. The employees of the Lake Bath may deny services in such cases.
