During the 2005 reconstruction of the lake’s bathhouse, the most modern architectural solutions of the time were applied, which proved adequate for many years. However, due to the special architectural structure, construction, and purpose of the building, it has always been clear that continuous monitoring of its structural integrity is necessary.
Monitoring of the building began in early 2008, primarily through geodetic surveys, which showed no significant changes during that time. The investigative methods used by experts consistently confirmed that the building was suitable for guest use.
The 2023 examination suggested the need for broader analyses using new technologies – including 3D building modelling, LIDAR scanning, GEOPHONE sound radar – along with gas and wood sampling, and other structural assessments. Based on the results of the additional investigations carried out in early 2025, it became clear that the building can no longer fulfil its original function. For the safety of our guests, the lake’s central bathhouse was closed as of 18 March 2025.
According to further expert consultations, the reconstruction project for the central bath building will require extended preparation and implementation time. For this interim period, we are planning to offer an alternative indoor bathing solution, a so-called “Island Bath.” Three architectural concept plans have recently been completed, and their evaluation is currently underway by nature conservation, environmental, and technical authorities.
Our institution will continue to do everything possible to ensure our guests’ peaceful relaxation and recovery.
