University of Győr has set the goal of harnessing modern technologies in the service of sustainability and societal well-being. In line with this mission, one of its key focus areas is healthcare and health technology. The institution is establishing its MedTech Campus in Győr, which, in addition to practice-oriented professional training, aims to foster the creation of new patents, innovations, and health industry collaborations, while also contributing high-quality services to promote the health of people living in the region. These efforts are also supported by the cooperation agreement signed with the St. Andrew Hospital for Rheumatology and Medicinal Spa of Hévíz, which was signed on the campus in Győr by Dr. Bálint Filep, President of the University, and Dr. Zsuzsanna Holléné Dr. Mándó, Director General of the hospital.
One of the main goals of the partnership is to further develop the university’s health science programs, which have been running for more than 25 years at the Faculty of Health and Sports Sciences, with the involvement of the hospital’s professionals. Plans include launching a training program for healthcare technologists, expanding the curriculum to include care management and psychology, and establishing a Department of Sports Medicine and Digital Health.
The parties will also establish a research unit at the hospital in Hévíz, focusing on studies related to natural healing factors and balneology. Their collaboration will also extend to sports science through the development of measurement techniques, models, and methods. Another key objective is the systemic implementation of telemedicine, supported by the necessary technological infrastructure.
Through this cooperation, both the hospital and the university aim to increase their international presence and encourage young physicians to pursue careers in science, research, and education.
Rejuniva Ltd., founded by University of Győr, focuses on improving the quality of life of aging individuals who wish to remain active. Its Rejuniva Longevity+ program offers a modern lifestyle model for the mature adult phase of life. The hospital's expertise in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and prevention can also contribute to the development of this program and the delivery of advanced services.
